And I love the prospect of e-reading — the immediacy it offers, the increasing wealth of its resources. But I’m discovering, too, a hidden property in printed books, one of the reasons I will always prefer them. They do nothing.”

  1. That's a great point- I can do more (at once) on my computer and on devices but if I have a book, well, that's all I have going on. I have to do that. Nothing is distracting me from it.
