Regional Associate Priest

Regional Associate Priest – The Rev. Dr. Amy Pauley

Amy joined the South Georgian Bay Regional Ministry in 2024. She was ordained a deacon in 2024 and a priest in 2025 in the Diocese of Toronto. Amy holds a PhD in Theology, specializing in Theological Ethics, from Saint Paul University in Ottawa, and a Master of Divinity from Trinity College at the University of Toronto. Before entering ordained ministry, she taught theology at Saint Paul University and was a research fellow at the Lonergan Center at Boston College. Her academic interests include ethics, aesthetics, and the significance of humour in theological reflection.

Although Amy loved teaching and research, she increasingly felt drawn to Christian community, where theology could be lived out, not just studied. She continues to discover how even Jesus' most amazing and puzzling teachings begin to make sense through worship, relationships, and the shared life of faith. She began serving in pastoral ministry in Anglican congregations in Barrie before coming to South Georgian Bay.

Amy enjoys pastoral care, contemplative spirituality, healing prayer, and finding creative ways to help people explore Scripture and discover their gifts for ministry. She is excited about regional ministry, particularly the opportunities to strengthen relationships, encourage lay leadership, and support collaboration among the four Anglican church communities in the region.

Outside of ministry, Amy enjoys reading, exploring the endless rabbit holes of YouTube (at the end of which sometimes she learns something), and spending time outdoors with her beloved dog, Wally, a large, shy softy named after Walter Matthau.
