Outreach

Giving back to and fostering our community is important to us at All Saints’ Anglican Church, and we do that through the valuable volunteers in our Outreach Ministry.

CO3 (Coffee, Cookies and Conversation)

We offer parishioners and the people of the community at large, regardless of faith affiliation, an opportunity to meet in a safe, caring and friendly environment. We enjoy each other’s company, playing games, drinking coffee and conversing.  We aim to alleviate loneliness and isolation, giving folks an opportunity to attend a gathering in which to see caring, Christian people in a non-threatening environment, while forming new friendships.

The Food Ministry relies greatly on our volunteers, parishioners and local merchants.

Community Friendship Dinner

Our Friendship Dinners are part of our ministry to those effected by food insecurity. Every second Wednesday of the month, we offer a nutritious hot buffet dinner to anyone who wishes to show up. The volunteers who prepare and serve these dinners find them an immensely meaningful and rewarding way to give back to the community, and we are always looking for more help.

Five Loaves

Is part of our food ministry at All Saints.  On the first Wednesday of the month we make 110-120 meals to be delivered to people who find it difficult to attend our Friendship Dinner in person.  Our recipients include people from  David Busby/Out of the Cold, Mobile Soup Kitchen families and about 50 other parishioners and friends of All Saints.  We have a team of about 14 people who shop, cook, pack and deliver the meals.

Food Pantry Box

The Food Pantry Box, situated on Elgin Street, is re-stocked two or three times a week with appropriate foods and personal supplies.  Donations are welcome and may be dropped off in the bins at the church doors or left in the church kitchen.

Food Drives

All Saints supports a variety of agencies and local partners working to address food insecurity. We always welcome non-perishable food items that can be dropped off at the church.

Gardening Guild

Tends to plantings around the church buildings.

Men’s Breakfast

All Saints’ Mens’ Breakfasts are always at 8am on the last Thursday of the month, except for July and August when we take a break.  It’s a time of friendship, laughter and conversation, and a chance to get to know one another better.    There is no charge, but we always welcome donations of eggs, juice, coffee, etc.   The cooks gather in the kitchen at 7am, and the breakfasts are simple but hearty.  All are welcome, and if you feel like helping cook or wash dishes elsewhere, we love that as well.  Contacts:  Father Michael and Jimmy Kelly.

Note that our parish women also have regular breakfasts on Saturdays but those are much fancier occasions.   Contact:  Cheri Kelly.

Parish Mission and Community Connection

Encourage and foster an environment to discover God’s will and future direction and growth of our ministry in our church community, in our neighbourhoods and in the broader community. To provide ongoing dialogue, act as a catalyst to help implement community building ideas coming from those dialogues, to present seed ideas from other sources and to energize the church community to reach out beyond ourselves.

Sunday Morning Coffee Hour

To provide an opportunity for parishioners and guests to meet following the Sunday morning service for a time of fellowship.

Sunday Morning Coffee Hosts

Parishioners take it in turn to host the coffee hour and to welcome guests and newcomers.

Women’s Breakfast

Women’s Group

The Women’s Group meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 7:15p – 8:45pm.  It is an opportunity to get to know other women in the parish, to support each other in our life’s journeys, to share and deepen our faith through learning and discussion, to pray for our church, family, community and the world, and to just simply enjoy an evening out!  All women are welcome.  Meetings are held in the church library.  Please enter by the ramp door off the parking lot.  If you need to use the lift, come to the lobby door on Elgin St. and buzz.
